Support Flight Findings
Flight Findings is free: every record, the map, the statistics and the collections. Ads help pay for the data work and the hosting. Supporters pay instead, and browse without them.

What an export contains
Flight Findings (flightfindings.com) export: NTSB data (public domain) and Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0; see wikipedia_url), joined and cleaned by Flight Findings. A partial collection of documented occurrences: counts are not rates and do not measure aviation risk. One row per occurrence, newest first; several aircraft are separated by semicolons.

date- Date of the occurrence (YYYY-MM-DD)
title- Record title (the Wikipedia article's title where there is one)
headline- One-line summary: aircraft and what happened
event_type- accident, incident, occurrence or unknown
operation- Air carrier, Air taxi & commuter, General aviation, Military, Government or Unknown
fatalities- Deaths in the occurrence; empty when unknown
ground_fatalities- Deaths on the ground, where recorded
serious_injuries- Serious injuries, where recorded
minor_injuries- Minor injuries, where recorded
location- Location as recorded
country- Country
latitude- Latitude of the plotted position; empty when the record could not be placed
longitude- Longitude of the plotted position
location_precision- How precise the position is (Exact, Approximate ...)
position_basis- Where the position comes from (for example town: the centre of the named place, an estimate)
weather- Visual (VMC) or instrument (IMC) conditions, where recorded
light- Daylight, dusk or dawn, or night, where recorded
kinds_of_event- Kinds of event Flight Findings derives from the coded events (collections use them)
aircraft_count- Aircraft involved
aircraft_models- Make and model of each aircraft, separated by semicolons
aircraft_types- Aircraft type as Flight Findings groups models
aircraft_categories- Airplane, Helicopter, Glider ...
registrations- Registration of each aircraft
operators- Operator of each aircraft; private individuals are not named
flight_numbers- Flight numbers, where known
phases- Phase of flight of each aircraft's defining event
defining_events- The coded defining event of each aircraft
damage- Damage to each aircraft
departure- Reported departure of the first aircraft
destination- Reported destination of the first aircraft
departure_airport- Departure resolved to an airport (OurAirports ident), when unambiguous
