The Bussum air disaster was an air disaster in the Dutch town of Bussum (province of North Holland) that took place on 14 November 1957. That day at 13.08 an American jet fighter crashed onto the Kolonel Palm Barracks, killing six and injuring sixteen, and part of the barracks was heavily damaged.
The pilot was making a training flight from Soesterberg Air Base in his North American F-100 Super Sabre, in which a fire broke out. He was able to save himself with his ejection seat. He landed unharmed with his parachute on the roof of the rest home "Villa Carla" in the Boslaan in Hilversum, and the ejection seat on the roof of a house in the Menno van Coehoornlaan in Hilversum.
