The 1993 accident of an Ilyushin Il-114 near Moscow occurred on 5 July 1993. On that day an Ilyushin Il-114 crashed on an Ilyushin factory flight shortly after takeoff from Moscow-Zhukovsky Airport. Seven of the nine occupants were killed in the accident.
Accident sequence
The aircraft took off at around 12 o'clock local time. After an unusually long takeoff run the aircraft lifted off at a steep angle. At a height of 45 metres the propeller of the right engine went into the feathered position. The aircraft then rolled left and right and reached a supercritical angle of attack, whereupon a stall occurred. The Ilyushin crashed to the ground 400 metres before the runway threshold and caught fire. Seven occupants were killed in the accident and the remaining two were seriously injured.
