China Eastern Airlines Flight 5443 (MU5443) was a short-haul domestic flight operated by China Eastern Airlines. The aircraft type was the Airbus A319. On 1 May 2016 it took off from Chengdu, and while landing at Kangding Airport, owing to bad weather at the airport, the aircraft touched down outside the runway, then immediately went around and returned to Chengdu. After landing in Chengdu it was found that the airliner's tyres were damaged, the right horizontal stabiliser had been pierced by a pipe, one system had lost all its hydraulic fluid, and six approach lights in four rows at Kangding Airport had been damaged, constituting a serious incident; fortunately, there were no casualties in the incident.
