The Yak-40 accident near Armavir was an aviation accident that occurred on 7 December 1976 in the vicinity of Armavir. A Yak-40 airliner of the Dnepropetrovsk Joint Air Detachment of Aeroflot was operating scheduled domestic flight N-929 on the route Dnepropetrovsk — Mineralnye Vody, but because of difficult weather conditions at Mineralnye Vody Airport the airliner diverted to the alternate at Krasnodar. Because of a shortage of fuel the crew decided to land at Armavir aerodrome, but did not make it to the aerodrome and made an emergency landing in a forest. None of the 29 people (25 passengers and 4 crew members) was killed or injured.
