The CNAC accident near Shimbuwang was a cargo flight of CNAC from Kunming-Wujiaba to Shimbuwang. On 31 August 1944, on this flight, the crew of a Douglas DC-3/C-47-A-90-DL cargo aircraft bailed out of the aircraft with parachutes after the engines cut out in flight and an emergency landing appeared impossible. Only the captain survived the parachute jump; the other two crew members were killed.
