In the morning the aircraft took off from Freiburg airfield for a passenger flight from Karlsruhe Airport to Braunschweig Airport and back. At 17:59 the aircraft then took off again from Karlsruhe Airport for Freiburg airfield. While the aircraft was on approach to runway 16, at 18:26 it collided with a tree, tearing off the right wingtip. Shortly afterwards the aircraft collided with further trees and crashed. Both occupants of the aircraft were killed.
