British Airways Flight 910 was a Vickers VC10-1151 carrying 10 passengers and 7 crew members on board on a flight from Hong Kong to Tokyo on 4 December 1974. 35 minutes after take-off, at an altitude of 7,500 feet (4 km and 600 metres) at a speed of 290/h, the flight engineer failed to switch between the engine feed tanks, which led to the failure and shutdown of all four of the aircraft's engines. The auxiliary engine beneath the aircraft's fuselage powered the electronic, electrical and hydraulic systems, and Captain Tony Frish managed to get the aircraft's systems going at an altitude of 3,750 feet (2 km and 175 metres) at a speed of 280 km/h and complete the flight to Tokyo Haneda International Airport. All 17 passengers and crew survived unharmed.
